F*&! Joe Torre

Since Joe Torre breaks our hearts, this blog will break his balls. Every day of the season I will detail the errors, misjudgements, and omissions that make him the most overrated manger in the history of the game (even more than Tommy Lasorda!). But Joe Torre is not just one bum in hero's clothing (i.e. the pinstripes); he is the quintessential counterfeit of excellence, a figure who embodies the triumph of the ersatz that pervades every aspect of our culture. No organization in sport, nay in civilization generally, has manifested a committment to continuing greatness like the New York Yankees, a beacon to all, in every field of endeavor, that the best is always possible. How intolerable is it then that the Yankees should be managed by a mediocrity on stilts, a figure with a reputation for greatness without any of the attributes thereof. Beginning with Torre and ending with Torre, this blog will look to smash idols we create out of inadvertence, ignorance, and complacency.

ONE DOWN,

Five to go.

Poor Andy Pettitte. Do you know how hard it is to fashion a 2.83 ERA over eight starts in the DH league and have only a 2-3 record to show for it. And this was supposed to be the team that could guarantee run support.

Oh and Giambi, working on a 1-25, stated after the game that "this team is capable of reeling off 15 straight wins." And of course he's right. Just not in the major leagues, either one of them.

Good bye Joe
You gotta go
Me oh my oh!
You can't think
Your team stinks
Even George says so.

Just wondering, if Joe is fired, is this blog finished? Because I think that you have the most interesting Yankee blog out there. Unlike most other Yankees fans, you are able to keep an objective point of view. You are not blinded by fanaticism. On the Yankees fan forum that I frequently visit, most of the fans think that this is only a bad stretch, and that Boston is just getting lucky. I can't listen to that nonsense anymore. This team needs to get rid of Torre, just to change the attitude and culture around the organization.

Thanks very much for the kind words. I've been getting so frustrated with the half-hearted effort the Yanks have been putting out lately that I have contemplated terminating the blog with Torre's termination. But it is more likely that it will continue, though under another name of course. Probably F*& Brian Cashman.

You're right, this is more than a bad stretch. And Boston isn't just lucky, they're hungry.
